A Mughal American Bedroom

I made this funny little drawing the other day.

I've been looking at Mughal Miniatures for the past year. The Mughal school, from the 16th-17th century, is a really specific type of Indian painting, which makes my brain just go nuts.  The compositions, like most Indian miniatures are tight, brightly colored, severely labored, and are loaded with stories of history and religion.

They're pretty fantastic.

So, I drew George and Martha Washington's bed in Mount Vernon.

I'm not that psyched on the drawing itself, but I totally got back in the groove with this one!

Welcome back!  I'm drawing!
